Climbing Equipment Guideline

  • Expedition grade plastic Boots (Koflach Style) or Leather Climbing Boots (B2 or B3 grad)
  • Crampons (crampon rating depends on your boot rating)
  • Extra Heavy Socks
  • Winter Climbing Gloves
  • Duvet jacket
  • Ice-axes (walking or mountaineering axes)
  • Ice hammer (optional)
  • Climbing Harness (adjustable with a couple of gear loops)
  • Descender (Belay Device or Figure of Eight)
  • Ascender (Jumar) 
  • Mid-size 4 lock Karabiners (at lieast 1 HMS Screwgate)
  • Gaiters (breathable fabric (Gore-Tex/eVent), knee length)
  • Sunglasses (category 4 lenses)
  • Helmet (comfortable, well ventilated and a good fit)
  • Cord  (6mm  x 2000mm long) useful for Prussik Knot or attaching gear to your harnesses
  • Sling Tape (18mm x 1200mm)
