Conservation of resources

We provide our clients with boiled water for drinking, and do not indulge in the purchase of bottled water, as disposal of plastic is a problem in Nepal. We always carry kerosene for cooking on our camping treks, and only patronise teahouses which use this fuel. The use of wood for burning and cooking is extremely harmful: smoke damages health, and felling trees for fuel aids deforestation. On all our expeditions, it is our policy to re-utilise any cans and jars we may need to use, and where this is impossible, we bring these items back to Kathmandu for recycling.
